Child Care Program
 In addition to providing professional, caring services for seniors, the Fort Greene Council also runs four programs for children ranging from 2-10 years of age.
The Young Minds Day Care provides a safe, nurturing environment that fosters creative expression, positive thinking and parental involvement for children ages 2-6.
The Young Minds Family Day Care Service is available when parents want in home daycare for their little ones, and Young Minds Out of School Time (OST) is the K-12 program for after-school, holidays and summers, providing rich cultural, academic and recreational activities.
Most of the programs are FREE or very inexpensive, through government funding. In addition, the day care centers provide three nutritious meals per day, plus a snack.
 Our teachers are fully licensed and very dedicated; many have been at the Council for 20 years.
What makes these daycares so unique is that they are housed near the Council’s senior centers. The kids get to relate to the seniors through inter-generational activities and learn from their wisdom and cultures.
