Shari Arthurton
Human Resource Generalist
Shari Arthurton is an experienced HR professional with more than 7 years of experience in HR management. She is responsible for talent acquisition, retention, personal learning, and staff development at Fort Greene Council and oversees the organization's compliance with local, state, and federal labor laws. She holds a Master's degree in Business Administration, specializing in Human Resource Management, from the University of Phoenix and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business, with a focus on Management Information Systems, from Norfolk State University. Naquan Taitt, B.S.
Controller
Naquan Taitt provides financial management and oversight for all FGC programs, ensuring compliance with the agency funding sources, federal, state and city tax regulations as well as Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Naquan holds a Bachelor Sciences in accounting with a minor in Computer Science from York College (CUNY), as well as an Associates degree in Computer Information Systems from Kingsborough Community College (CUNY). Ms. Leishanna Lawrence
Regional Manager
Ms. Leishanna Lawrence proudly stepped into her role as Regional Manager at Fort Greene Council, Inc. in February 2025, bringing with her over two decades of dedicated service to Brooklyn’s older adult community.
A lifelong Brooklyn resident and devoted mother of three sons, Ms. Lawrence began her journey with FGC more than 21 years ago through the NYC Department for the Aging’s Intergenerational Internship Program. She quickly advanced into her first staff position as a Clerical Aide under the mentorship of Ms. Claudette Macey—now FGC’s CEO/Executive Director. Since then, she has held a wide range of roles within the organization, each one deepening her knowledge, skill, and unwavering commitment to service.
Her leadership at the Hazel Brooks Older Adult Center earned her widespread respect and admiration. While her daily presence at Hazel Brooks is deeply missed, both members and staff celebrate her continued journey with FGC, knowing her influence as Regional Manager will positively impact older adults across all FGC centers.

Étienne Eaton
Marketing Manager
Etienne Eaton serves as the Marketing Manager for Fort Greene Council, Inc. where he leads strategic communications, brand development, and community engagement initiatives across the organization’s 16 Older Adult Clubs and Young Minds Day Care Center. With a dynamic blend of creativity, technical expertise, and operational insight, Etienne ensures that FGC’s mission, programs, and impact are communicated with clarity, authenticity, and purpose.
In his role, Etienne oversees digital marketing, social media strategy, public relations, content creation, event promotion, website design, and full site management. He directs FGC’s online presence to ensure the organization’s digital platforms remain engaging, accessible, and reflective of its evolving work throughout Brooklyn.
As the organization’s lead photographer and videographer, Etienne captures the spirit, vibrancy, and humanity of FGC’s programs through compelling visual storytelling. His lens highlights the joy of older adults, the energy of community events, and the transformative impact of services provided, bringing FGC’s work to life across digital and print platforms.
Known for his innovative ideas and high-energy leadership style, Etienne is passionate about community-centered marketing that builds trust, drives engagement, and expands access to vital services. He believes that effective communication is more than promotion, it is a bridge that connects people to opportunity, dignity, and belonging.
