Ms. Leishanna Lawrence

Regional Manager

Ms. Leishanna Lawrence proudly stepped into her role as Regional Manager at Fort Greene Council, Inc. in February 2025, bringing with her over two decades of dedicated service to Brooklyn’s older adult community.

A lifelong Brooklyn resident and devoted mother of three sons, Ms. Lawrence began her journey with FGC more than 21 years ago through the NYC Department for the Aging’s Intergenerational Internship Program. She quickly advanced into her first staff position as a Clerical Aide under the mentorship of Ms. Claudette Macey—now FGC’s CEO/Executive Director. Since then, she has held a wide range of roles within the organization, each one deepening her knowledge, skill, and unwavering commitment to service.

Her leadership at the Hazel Brooks Older Adult Center earned her widespread respect and admiration. While her daily presence at Hazel Brooks is deeply missed, both members and staff celebrate her continued journey with FGC, knowing her influence as Regional Manager will positively impact older adults across all FGC centers.
