Fort Greene Council Joins NYC for the 33rd Annual National Older Adult Health & Fitness Day 2026

Fort Greene Council is proud to announce that we will once again participate in the 33rd Annual National Older Adult Health & Fitness Day, one of the nation’s largest celebrations dedicated to promoting healthy aging, active living, and wellness for older adults.


This year’s exciting theme is“Dance Through the Decades: Move a Little…Live a Lot!”—


invites older adults across New York City to come together for a morning full of music, movement, and community connection.


Event Details: National Older Adult Health & Fitness Day NYC 2026


📅 Date: Wednesday, May 27, 2026⏰ Time: 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM📍 Location: Foley Square Park, Manhattan (between Lafayette, Worth & Center Streets)

Hosted by NYC Aging, this annual event brings together older adults from across the five boroughs to celebrate the importance of staying active, engaged, and socially connected.



What to Expect at Fitness Day 2026

Participants can look forward to a lively and engaging experience, including:


  • 💃 Group dancing and “Dance Through the Decades” activities

  • 🎶 Live music and performances

  • 🏃‍♀️ Fitness demonstrations and movement sessions

  • 🤝 Opportunities to connect with fellow older adults across NYC

  • 🥗 Complimentary boxed lunch
