June 19th marks a powerful moment in American history—the day in 1865 when enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas, were finally informed of their freedom, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. Juneteenth is a celebration of Black liberation, resilience, and the enduring spirit of a people who have shaped every part of this nation.

At Fort Greene Council, Inc., we proudly honor Juneteenth across our organization—and this year, all 16 of our Older Adult Clubs will be hosting their own unique Juneteenth celebrations! We encourage you to celebrate with us at your local club and join in this vibrant reflection of culture, history, and community.

Juneteenth is more than a historic day—it’s a call to remember the past, acknowledge the present, and remain committed to a future rooted in freedom, justice, and equity for all.

We invite you to join in the spirit of Juneteenth by:
