Yesterday was a day to remember as Fort Greene Council came together with our amazing partners — Councilmember Rita Joseph’s Office and VNS Health — to celebrate National Senior Citizens Day! 💙🙌
Our older adults showed up in full force, ready to be honored, celebrated, and supported on this special occasion. The day was filled with joy, energy, and community spirit. From raffles and giveaways to valuable resources, entertainment, and heartfelt moments, the celebration truly reflected the vibrancy and resilience of the community we are proud to serve.
✨
We are especially grateful to our Zest for Life Older Adult Club for graciously opening their doors and hosting this incredible event. Their warm hospitality made it possible to welcome so many new faces and build even stronger connections across our network. 💐
Events like these are more than just celebrations — they are reminders of the importance of honoring the wisdom, contributions, and stories of our older adults. National Senior Citizens Day is an opportunity for us all to pause, give thanks, and reaffirm our commitment to ensuring that older New Yorkers live with dignity, joy, and community.
A huge THANK YOU goes out to all the vendors, partners, and supporters who made this day possible. Your dedication helps us continue our mission of fighting ageism, promoting healthy aging, and uplifting Brooklyn’s older adults.
Here’s to aging strong, celebrating life, and continuing to build a community where older adults thrive. 💙
