At Fort Greene Council’s Zest for Life Older Adult Club in Flatbush, Brooklyn, empowerment takes many forms — and this week, it took center stage in style!
Our members stepped onto the red carpet with confidence, flair, and plenty of personality for our Red Carpet Hat Show. Dressed to impress and brimming with self-expression, participants showcased hats that ranged from elegant and classic to bold and downright whimsical. Each one told a story — of creativity, confidence, and community.
The energy in the room was contagious. There was laughter, applause, and endless photo ops as members struck poses and celebrated one another’s individuality. Our photo booth added to the fun, giving everyone a chance to capture their red-carpet moments and take home a memory of the day’s joy and pride.
But beyond the hats and the photos, this event was about something deeper: empowerment at any age.
